Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I’m a South Bend, Indiana based photographer, and I also work in Notre Dame, Mishawaka, Granger, Elkhart and the surrounding areas. I am happy to travel to other destinations within the Michiana region and beyond.

What kind of photography services do you provide?

I specialize in family and children’s photography. I love photographing couples and especially their engagement. I do professional headshots for job seekers and portrait sessions for high school seniors. I do wedding photography a few times a year and I cover some other special family events (baptisms, birthdays, family reunions, etc.).

Commercial and product photography is available depending on the request. I love working with small businesses and interesting concepts, but am not limited to this!

How would you describe your style?

I love preserving moments, emotions and personalities in my photos. During my portrait photo shoots, I combine posed and candid photos. My posing guidance is very gentle and often I suggest an activity instead of a frozen pose. It’s best to describe my style as lifestyle photography. I tend to have a cheerful and energetic feel for family and children’s photography, and a romantic and tender feel for couples and engagements.

Where does the session take place?

Typically, sessions take place either outdoors or in my clients’ homes. You are welcome to suggest any location that you like, or I can give you some ideas. You may find my favorite locations in the South Bend, Indiana area here.

During outdoor photo sessions, be prepared to walk from one location to another one within a walking distance. We won’t stay at one place for too long. This way, children will enjoy some activities and we’ll have different backgrounds for your photographs.

What should I take for an outdoor photo session?

> Water and treats for kids.

> You may bring something to sit on, such as a blanket or something waterproof, if you’re not comfortable sitting on the ground.

> It’s best to pack everything in one bag, because it will be easier for us to move from place to place.

When should I schedule my maternity session?

It’s usually better to schedule your maternity photo session between 30-35 weeks, when the baby bump is already nice and full, but you still feel comfortable.

What is the best time for a newborn photography session?

Newborn babies are usually best to photograph when they are 10-15 days old. However, I do newborn photo sessions in a family documentary style, and any age is great for that.

How do we schedule a newborn photo session?

I usually reserve a tentative date for newborn photography. I ask parents to contact me when the baby is born and we then schedule an actual session date.

What should we wear?

Check out my “What to Wear” guide here.

What if it’s raining?

I start checking the weather forecast 3 days before every photo session. If it’s raining or heavy overcast, I will suggest to reschedule our photo session to a better weather day.

How long will it take to receive our images?

Usually you receive your images within 2 weeks, but during busy times, it may be a little longer.

How will I receive my images?

Your photographs will be delivered in high-resolution JPG format through a password-protected online gallery, and you’ll have a link to download them all.

How can I use the images?

You can use your images to make prints, share with your friends and family, and post on social media.

You can also order prints through your online gallery. They will be printed in a professional lab and delivered to your home.
