My story
I discovered my passion for coding in 2014 when I built my first WordPress website for my photography business. That experience sparked my journey into web development.
Driven to learn more, I began taking online courses and bootcamps focused on responsive web design, front-end and back-end development — particularly with JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress technologies.
My first industry role was as a technical support engineer for the WP Rocket plugin. I quickly proved my ability to learn difficult technical concepts and to adjust to rapidly evolving technologies. Within just over a year, I was promoted to Level 2 support, and later became a team captain and technical coach.
Eager to grow as a software developer, I added React.js to my toolkit and continued strengthening my skills across other technologies. In 2023, I landed a software engineering role that includes both web and mobile development. This opportunity led me to relocate from the USA to Finland.
In my current position, I focus on Point of Sale solutions for retail and e-commerce, specializing in custom WooCommerce plugin development and React Native mobile app development for Android and iOS.
My key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and extending custom plugins and solutions
- Integrating payment terminals, gateways, and third-party APIs
- Performing security updates and code reviews
- Automated testing, i.e. unit testing
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues
- Writing technical documentation
- Ensuring high code quality, scalability, and performance
I’m actively involved in the WordPress community, regularly participating in WordCamps and other events to stay connected, inspired, and up-to-date.
On a personal level, I bring a friendly, easygoing, and open-minded attitude to everything I do. I thrive in international, collaborative environments where innovation and teamwork are valued.
